Having worked as an art therapist for nearly 25 years, I've been fortunate to get to know this profession from the inside out. I've worked as a clinician, placement manager, member of a SIG committee, supervisor, associate editor of the IJAT journal, educator, a director of the professional membership body and as an author. Each of these roles helped me to understand a little more about practice across the UK. I've also been fortunate to meet many art therapists and to see the passion and committment they have for service users, their community, and for the unique benefits that art therapy can offer to support wellbeing.
